  • States of Matter

Matter is all around us. The clothes you wear, the water you drink, the air you breathe even you are made up of matter! Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. All matter is made up of molecules. The three main states of matter are solids, liquids, and gases.

Solids

Solids  have volume and shape. Solids are made up of molecules that are firmly packed and unable to move. Solid states of matter include brick, vehicles, literature, and the human body.

Liquids
Liquids do not have a shape and can come in a variety of colours. There are numerous liquid instances throughout the world. The most visible examples are oceans, seas, and rivers. Liquid matter is made up of molecules that can move about because their connections are loose.

    Gases
They are in the air around us. We can walk right through the gas without feeling it. Gas molecules travel around freely. They are separated.  Helium, which we utilize to inflate the balloon, is an example of a gas.
